Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace-EDS is seeking a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to drive the design and development of RF/high-speed PCB layouts and advanced electronic packaging in a collaborative, cross-functional team.

You will lead independent design tasks, coordinate with ECAD tools like Xpedition, Altium or PADS, and ensure manufacturability, reliability, and quality across the product lifecycle in a hybrid San Diego environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (STEM).
• 8+ years designing high-frequency multilayer SMT and MIC layouts.
• Experience with electrical/electromechanical layout and packaging.
• Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and GD&T.
• Ability to translate inputs into manufacturable designs.

Responsibilities

• Generate circuit layouts and drawings from schematics and inputs.
• Incorporate ECAD changes using Xpedition, Altium or PADS.
• Prepare BOMs and PLM data (Agile / Teamcenter).
• Collaborate with engineering to define mechanical assembly approaches.
• Support impedance, temperature rise, and voltage drop calculations.
• Adhere to safety policies and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
• Review and present designs in engineering reviews.
• Translate 2D/3D data into circuit and mechanical integration.
