Meijer is seeking a customer-focused team member to support a high-standard shopping experience in the store. You will help with checkout, assist customers, and work with leadership to schedule tasks and improve service metrics.

The role includes mentoring peers, training new staff, and ensuring product freshness, safety, and compliant operations. A positive, inclusive attitude is essential for success at Meijer.

Responsibilities

• Engaging peers to provide the best possible shopping experience and checkout.
• Communicating with team members and assigning daily tasks.
• Mentoring and coaching others to exceed customer service and sales goals.
• Support training new team members and cross-training high potential talent.
• Assist with department scheduling to improve engagement, service, sales and profitability.
• Ensure product freshness and proper rotation and dating policies.
• Guide the team on food safety standards and safe operations.
• Lead activities such as ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and product displays.
• Foster Meijer culture and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Operate a register and cash handling as needed.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period end inventories and assist where required.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments as needed.
