Qualifications

• Retail or other customer service experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to influence others and build rapport.
• Willingness to lift, carry, push and pull items as part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers to ensure a top-notch shopping experience and checkout flow.
• Communicate with team members and assign daily tasks.
• Mentor and coach teammates to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Assist in training new team members and cross-training talent.
• Assist with department scheduling to boost engagement and store performance.
• Ensure product freshness through proper rotation and dating practices.
• Follow food safety standards and maintain safe work practices.
• Lead in ordering, receiving, stocking, pricing and display as needed.
• Support Meijer culture and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
• Operate registers and handle cash as required.
• Operate powered equipment where applicable.
• Participate in period-end inventories as needed.
• May act in Lead capacity in other departments.
