Job summary

Cushing Terrell is hiring an Architect or Design Technician to lead grocery and retail projects from concept to construction. You will collaborate with clients, consultants, and our multidisciplinary teams to ensure performance, sustainability, and value across all phases.

Candidate should have a degree from a NAAB-accredited program and substantial experience; licensure is a plus but not required. The role emphasizes team leadership, design excellence, and strong project management.

Qualifications

• NAAB-accredited Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree.
• 5 to 10+ years job-related experience leading projects, teams and clients.
• License is optional: current architect license/registration is a plus, not a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from early design vision through construction.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently with strong client management.
• Collaborate with design leaders and other disciplines to develop concepts.
• Prepare contract documents and perform construction cost estimates.
• Inspect work for compliance with specifications and advise clients and teams.
• Direct activities of other architectural team members and supervise when needed.
• Seal and sign permit documents on projects if licensed.
• Develop and maintain external and internal client relationships.
