Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking an Architect or Design Technician to lead grocery and retail design projects from concept through construction in the United States. You will collaborate with clients, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet performance, sustainability, and value goals.

This role emphasizes managing multiple projects, guiding teams, and developing compelling design solutions that balance brand storytelling with operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• NAAB-accredited degree required; plus architectural licensure is a plus.
• 3 to 5+ years of job-related experience with demonstrated competence leading projects, teams and clients.
• Experience and passion for Grocery and Retail design.

Responsibilities

• Proven track record of exceptional client management.
• Must be able to take a project from start to finish; manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Collaborate with design leaders and other disciplines to produce preliminary design concepts.
• Prepare contract documents for building contractors and complete construction cost estimates.
• Provide code and jurisdictional research on projects; inspect work for compliance.
• Develop and maintain external and internal client relationships; supervise team members.

Education

NAAB-accredited Bachelor or Master of Architecture degree
