Job summary

Curaleaf is seeking a Lead Store Associate in Bordentown, NJ. You will head daily store operations, coach a retail team, ensure compliant processes, and deliver exceptional customer service in a high-volume environment.

You’ll drive sales through consultative approaches, manage opening/closing tasks, and maintain POS accuracy. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year in a customer-facing or sales environment.
• At least 1 year using POS systems and cash handling.
• At least 6 months of leadership experience in a retail environment.
• At least 6 months of hands-on retail store operations experience including opening/closing procedures and cash drawer reconciliation.
• Proven track record as a Store Associate with consistent performance.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills to coach others.
• Familiarity with SOPs, safety protocols, and loss prevention.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a high-volume, compliance-driven setting.
• Availability for a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional overnights.
• Multitasking and adaptability; proficiency with technology for operations and customer interactions.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• De-escalation skills to redirect upset customers to a positive experience.
• Confident in problem-solving and handling high-stress situations.
• Proactive approach to supporting store leadership and cross-station capabilities.
• Experience across inventory, fulfillment, and daily inventory counts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer experiences and guide team performance on the shop floor.
• Coach associates to provide personalized product recommendations and expert guidance.
• Drive consultative selling and upsell where appropriate while teaching open-ended questions.
• Encourage loyalty program enrollment and capture customer insights.
• Resolve customer concerns with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and guest-ready store environment.
• Execute opening/closing duties, daily huddles, and cash reconciliation.
• Verify IDs and maintain accurate POS profiles; ensure inventory integrity.
• Lead inventory counts and participate in overnight audits.
• Support store leadership with training, coaching, and cross-training across stations.
