Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a proactive Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the store in the absence of the Manager or Assistant Manager. You will assist with plan-o-grams, merchandise stocking, and exceptional customer service to maximize profitability and reduce losses.

You will unload trucks, stock shelves, operate the register, process payments, and help maintain a clean, safe store environment while guiding customers and supporting store goals.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills including percentages, totals and change.
• Familiarity with cash handling and deposit procedures.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and store protocols.
• Plan-o-gram comprehension and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise; rotate and face shelves.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and help locate merchandise.
• Operate cash register, process payments and bag items.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety practices.
• Provide customer service leadership in the absence of management.
• Open/close store per guidelines and handle refunds/overrides.
