Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a versatile Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of the Store Manager. The role emphasizes customer service, plan-o-gram execution, and efficient merchandise stocking across the store.

You will unload trucks, stock and rotate items, greet customers, operate the cash register, and maintain a clean, safe shopping environment while following company procedures. This is a full-time store operations position with potential supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• High school diploma or equivalent with supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves and build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and total customer's purchase; bag merchandise.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Open and/or close the store under direction of the Area Manager.
• Authorize refunds and overrides; count register and manage cash deposits.
