Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to join our team in the United States. You will greet customers, provide exemplary service, unload trucks, stock and rotate merchandise, and assist in maintaining plan-o-grams and displays while acting in lead capacity in the store's absence.

You will operate the cash register and scanner, handle accuracy of transactions, bag items, and help keep the store clean, organized, safe, and secure.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions and scanner.
• Knowledge of plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise.
• Follow procedures to receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and build displays; rotate products.
• Restock returned merchandise and manage shelves.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation.
• Assist customers by locating items and answering questions.
• Operate cash register, bag merchandise, collect payments and give change.
• Maintain a clean and safe store environment.
• Open and/or close the store under management direction.
