Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can lead in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager, help maintain plan-o-grams, and deliver exemplary customer service while protecting company assets.

You will unload trucks, stock and rotate merchandise, operate the register, greet customers, and help keep the store clean and safe. This full-time role offers teamwork, a reliable schedule, and opportunities to grow within the company.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to perform IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral & written communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and stock merchandise; build displays.
• Assist customers and locate merchandise.
• Operate cash register and collect payment.
• Open/close store under direction of Area Manager.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety.
