Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker with leadership responsibilities in the absence of store management. You will assist in plan-o-gram implementation, provide excellent customer service, and perform duties to maximize profitability and teamwork while protecting assets.

The role involves unloading trucks, stocking, operating the register, and maintaining a clean, well‑organized store. Prior supervisory experience and a high school diploma are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math and cash handling procedures.
• Knowledge of plan-o-gram interpretation and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; customer service oriented.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks and process shipments according to store procedures.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons; stock merchandise and rotate stock.
• Maintain plan-o-grams and merchandising displays; restock and face shelves.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise; provide helpful service at the register.
• Operate cash register and scanner; collect payment and bag items; give correct change.
• Keep store clean and safe; handle trash, dusting, and restroom upkeep.
• Open/close the store as directed by management.
