Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to lead in the absence of store management. The role emphasizes exceptional customer service, merchandising, inventory handling, and efficient checkout operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will unload trucks, stock shelves, assist customers, and maintain store cleanliness while upholding company policies and loss prevention measures. A High School diploma and some supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math and cash handling with accuracy.
• Familiarity with plan-o-gram execution and merchandising guidance.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety policies and loss prevention.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipments as directed.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Help customers locate items.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in store areas.
• Greet customers and support checkout operations.
• Operate register and itemize purchases; bag merchandise.
• Handle payments and make change.
• Support sidewalk displays and front-end cleanliness.
• Maintain organized, secure cash handling and register area.
• Open/close store under Area Manager guidance; handle refunds/overrides as needed.
• Monitor cash levels; assist with drawer pulls and banking as directed.
• Observe security via cameras where applicable; report incidents.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
