Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) in Boston, MA seeks a Lead Respiratory Therapist for a full-time, 40-hour day schedule to oversee staff, coordinate assignments and uphold high clinical standards in respiratory care.

Requirements include AMA-approved respiratory therapy program, MA licensure, RRT, and current BLS/ACLS/NRP. 3–5 years in adult critical care with leadership experience and EPIC/Microsoft Office proficiency are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree from an AMA approved program in respiratory therapy; Bachelor degree required.
• Licensed in respiratory therapy by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; RRT required.
• Current BLS, ACLS and NRP required.
• Minimum of 3-5 years combined experience in adult critical care environment; leadership experience preferred.
• RRT required; academic teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight, assistance, support and problem resolution to respiratory staff; organize assignments and workload coverage.
• Resolve call-offs on site and maintain staffing for subsequent shifts; address issues promptly.
• Lead development and deliver intradepartmental meetings and clinical content presentations.
• Assist with policies, procedures, equipment evaluation and cost-effective usage.
• Organize weekly department meetings and participate in hospital committees as requested.
