Job summary

Boston Medical Center seeks a Lead Respiratory Therapist to provide direct oversight and support to the Respiratory Therapy staff. You will organize assignments, ensure workload coverage, and participate in departmental meetings.

The role requires an AMA-approved respiratory therapy degree, Massachusetts RRT, and 3–5 years in adult critical care. Leadership and teaching responsibilities are included, with a full-time schedule and salary range discussed in compensation.

Qualifications

• Degree from an AMA approved program in respiratory therapy; Bachelor degree required.
• RRT licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current BLS, ACLS and NRP certifications.
• Minimum 3–5 years in adult critical care and NICU environments; leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee respiratory staff, assignments, and workload coverage.
• Provide clinical oversight, education, and problem resolution.
• Resolve call-offs and maintain staffing for shifts.
• Develop and implement respiratory care policies and protocols.
• Participate in intradepartmental meetings and quality initiatives.
• Assist with equipment evaluation, purchasing, and inventory control.
• Support clinical rotations and collaborations with teaching institutions.
• Billing reconciliation and other duties as assigned.
