Job summary

ARMSTRONG AIR & ELECTRIC is seeking a skilled Lead Residential HVAC Installer to lead installation crews and ensure high-quality workmanship on residential HVAC system projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a commitment to safety and customer service, with experience in reading blueprints and performing load calculations. A EPA certification and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of residential HVAC installation experience.
• Proven experience leading installation crews or as a senior installer.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, duct design, and installation best practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
• EPA Certification is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise installation of residential HVAC systems, including split systems, heat pumps, air handlers, and ductwork.
• Interpret blueprints, job specifications, and load calculations to ensure proper system installation.
• Ensure all installations meet company standards, manufacturer specifications, and local/state codes.
• Train, mentor, and support junior installers and helpers.
• Communicate effectively with customers, project managers, and office staff.
• Maintain job site cleanliness and professionalism at all times.
• Complete all required job documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and make necessary adjustments in the field.
• Ensure proper startup, testing, and commissioning of installed systems.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
• Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and varying weather conditions
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
