Job summary

Element Service Group Mechanical in Apex, NC is seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Installer to oversee residential and light-commercial HVAC installations. This role requires leading installation crews, ensuring safe, code-compliant, high-quality work, and delivering an excellent customer experience.

As a senior installer you will oversee system replacements and new installations, review scopes and permits, and train crew members while maintaining safety and documentation standards.

Qualifications

• Three+ years HVAC installation experience; lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of residential split systems, heat pumps, gas furnaces, refrigerant piping, airflow, electrical controls, and ductwork.
• EPA Section 608 certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead complete HVAC system replacements and new installations.
• Install air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, ductwork, controls, and related accessories.
• Review job scopes, equipment specifications, permits, and installation requirements before beginning work.
• Direct and train installers and helpers, clearly assigning daily responsibilities.
• Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, company standards, applicable codes, and safety requirements.
• Perform start-up, testing, commissioning, and quality-control inspections.
• Diagnose and resolve installation-related problems in the field.
• Protect customers’ homes and properties and maintain an organized jobsite.
• Communicate job progress, changes, delays, and material needs to customers and the operations team.
• Accurately complete job documentation, equipment records, photos, checklists, and customer approvals.
• Maintain assigned vehicles, tools, equipment, and inventory.
• Participate in ongoing technical, safety, leadership, and customer-service training.

Element Service Group Mechanical is seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Installer to oversee residential and light-commercial HVAC installations. This role is responsible for producing safe, code-compliant, high-quality work while leading installation crews and delivering an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complete HVAC system replacements and new installations.
• Install air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces, air handlers, ductwork, controls, and related accessories.
• Review job scopes, equipment specifications, permits, and installation requirements before beginning work.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Three or more years of HVAC installation experience; lead experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of residential split systems, heat pumps, gas furnaces, refrigerant piping, airflow, electrical controls, and ductwork.
• Ability to read installation instructions, wiring diagrams, equipment specifications, and job scopes.
• Working knowledge of HVAC codes and safe installation practices.
• EPA Section 608 certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to lead, coach, and hold crew members accountable.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
• Ability to use mobile applications for scheduling and job documentation.
• NATE certification and relevant trade licenses are beneficial but not required.

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Work in attics, crawlspaces, mechanical rooms, and outdoor environments.
• Safely climb ladders and perform repeated bending, kneeling, standing, and reaching.
• Work in hot, cold, and confined conditions while following required safety procedures.
