Job summary

IES is seeking an experienced Residential Electric Technician in Leander, TX. You will lead residential rough-in crews, perform complex installations, and mentor junior electricians on safety and code requirements.

Strong leadership and problem-solving are essential to ensure on-time, high-quality work on active construction sites. You will coordinate with project management, review plans, and maintain documentation while upholding company safety standards and applicable electrical codes.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of residential electrical systems, rough-in installation methods, equipment, materials, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to lead, train, and mentor residential electrical crews.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical plans, schematics, specs, and related docs.
• Knowledge of residential construction practices and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support residential rough-in crews to complete installations safely and on schedule.
• Perform advanced residential electrical installation, service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work.
• Train, mentor, and guide electricians and crew members on rough-in methods and safety.
• Review plans and work orders to coordinate rough-in activities and ensure quality.
• Inspect rough-in work for code compliance and standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex electrical installation and service issues.
• Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, and equipment to maintain productivity.
• Communicate with supervisors, project management, builders, vendors, and other trades.
• Maintain records, reports, and documentation related to installations and activities.
• Serve as technical resource for crew members and resolve field concerns.
