Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Resident Dam and Tunnel Engineer to lead technical oversight, construction supervision, and field engineering for a major dam/tunnel program. You will act as the senior technical representative, coordinating with Client, Contractor, designers, and discipline specialists to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence.

The role requires extensive experience in dam/tunnel projects, strong design/constructability knowledge, and a Professional Engineer license or

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in civil/geotechnical/related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in dam/tunnel/highway infrastructure construction.
• Experience providing resident engineering, construction management, or technical oversight on complex dam/tunnel projects.
• Strong understanding of dam/tunnel design principles, construction methods, materials, temporary works, excavation, and instrumentation.
• Experience reviewing designs, specifications, calculations, drawings, inspection plans, and submittals.
• Ability to coordinate with owners, contractors, designers, inspectors, and project controls teams.
• Professional Engineer license or equivalent registration is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify works are constructed per Employer’s Requirements and contract documents.
• Coordinate with Client, Contractor, designers and technical experts to resolve issues.
• Ensure inspections are completed and QA/QC programs are effective in the field.
• Monitor project progress, risks, and technical performance.
• Provide technical oversight of Contractor’s engineering activities onsite and manage personnel.
• Review submittals and ensure compliance with design criteria and contract documents.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate schedule, cost, and construction risks.
• Provide training and guidance to engineers, inspectors, and project personnel.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, geological engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, construction engineering, or a related discipline
