Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a highly experienced Tunnel Engineer to join the Americas Region leadership. The role focuses on design and project management of major tunnel projects, mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across a broad portfolio.

You will lead large-scale tunneling efforts, guide geotechnical and structural design, and collaborate with clients and agencies to win new opportunities while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• PE license required.
• Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
• 20+ years in tunnel engineering with 5+ years in a leadership role in the US.
• Experience with TBM, NATM, and cut-and-cover methods.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, PLAXIS, and SAP 2000.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership to a portfolio of tunnel and underground projects.
• Take on Project or Design Manager roles overseeing planning, design and execution.
• Offer expert guidance on geotechnical analysis, structural design, and construction methods.
• Mentor and develop a team of tunnel engineers.
• Collaborate with clients, government agencies and partners to secure new opportunities.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and quality standards on all projects.
• Stay abreast of tunneling advancements and support leadership strategies.
