Job summary

Jacobs in San Francisco, CA, seeks an Assistant Resident Engineer to support construction management on complex tunneling and wastewater conveyance projects.

You will work with Lead Resident Engineers, project engineers, estimators and inspectors to deliver results on time, coordinating technical decisions, schedules and change management.

A Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience are required; a PE license or CCM is a plus for this onsite role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
• 10 years of experience providing resident or assistant resident engineering services for urban, underground tunneling and public works/utility construction projects.
• Experience within the last 15 years for at least one urban underground tunneling project valued at $75 million or more with mixed soil conditions and a minimum 10-feet ID tunnel.
• Must have valid driver's license with good driving history.
• Ideally, PE license or CCM.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Resident Engineers on tunneling, wastewater, civil and mechanical construction projects.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, Estimators, Inspectors, Schedulers and stakeholders to deliver results.
• Participate in contract change processes, RFIs, change orders, and field change negotiations.
• Assist in technical decisions, schedule reviews, and project meetings with contractors and stakeholders.
