Job summary

FINRA in Rockville, MD is seeking a Staff Release Engineer to join a hybrid team. You will deploy software to production, manage configuration and release processes, and act as the gatekeeper for in‑house application changes before they reach production.

The role emphasizes collaboration, documentation of release results, mentoring junior staff, and adherence to security controls while delivering quality releases in a fast paced 24/7 environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline with at least three (3) years of related experience.
• Experience with a formal Software Configuration / Release Management environment, using an application release automation product and tickets.
• Experience managing complex releases with strong knowledge of change, problem/incident, and delivery management in a 24x7 production environment.

Responsibilities

• Deploy software into production environments.
• Ensure configuration management deliverables are transitioned to production operations.
• Act as the gatekeeper on all new in-house application release implementations and change management before production.
• Participate in release deployment calls.
• Interface with team members and other teams for peer review of CM standards.
• Document and communicate release results timely.
