Job summary

Midwest Health, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to residents in our facility and to supervise nursing assistants in daily tasks.

You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local standards, participate in plan of care, document care accurately, and collaborate with physicians and other staff to maintain quality outcomes.

This on-site role requires licensure, CPR certification, and strong communication skills; weekend and shift flexibility may be required.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license in good standing.
• CPR certification required.
• Proficient with basic computer tasks.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day functions of the nursing assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care facility.
• Ensure that all nursing personnel assigned to you comply with the written policies and procedures established by this facility.
• Meet with your assigned nursing staff to plan shifts, services, programs, and activities.
• Make written and oral reports/recommendations concerning shift activities as required.
• Cooperate with other resident services when coordinating nursing services to ensure the resident's total regimen of care.
• Ensure that all nursing staff comply with their job descriptions.
• Participate in facility surveys and inspections by authorized government agencies.
• Periodically review the resident's discharge plan and update as required.
• Interpret department policies to personnel, residents, visitors, and government agencies.
• Administer professional services such as catheterization, dressings, and other duties as required.
• Perform lab tests, blood pressures, and routine monitoring as per care plan.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents as required.
• Complete medical forms, charts, and reports as necessary.
• Encourage physicians to review treatment plans and sign orders.
• Receive telephone orders and transcribe them.
• Chart nursing notes reflecting care provided and resident responses.
• Complete accident/incident reports per policy.
