Job summary

NuScale Power, LLC is seeking an Refueling and Remote Handling Supervisor to lead a team of engineers responsible for the design and analysis of remotely operated tools for fuel and reactor module handling operations. The role focuses on underwater remote handling in refueling outages, interfacing with NSSS/ RXB groups, regulatory affairs, QA and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field is required.
• Professional Engineer license or advanced degree preferred.
• Experience leading complex refueling and remote handling projects in nuclear context.

Responsibilities

• Supervises a team of professionals and provides assistance on technical work in line with project goals.
• Develops engineering deliverables communicating design and technical aspects of refueling and remote handling systems.
• Develops material handling processes to support remote refueling of the reactor module.
• Designs and analyzes refueling and remote handling equipment in underwater or radioactive environments.
• Collaborates with NSSS design groups to ensure repeatability and reliability of systems.
• Implements hydraulic, mechanical and electrical technologies in remote tooling design.
• Contributes to project planning, schedules, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Maintains relationships with external design organizations to achieve mission goals.
• Leads technical decision making regarding NRC licensing criteria.
