Job summary

City of Sioux City’s Parks and Recreation team seeks a Recreation Coordinator to lead year-round programs, events, and facility operations. You’ll oversee Cone Park operations, staff supervision, and safety, while building partnerships to deliver high-quality experiences for all ages.

In this full-time role, you’ll schedule events, support trail projects, manage rentals, and adapt plans to seasonal demands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Leisure Studies, Parks and Recreation, or related field; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and evaluate staff; manage scheduling and assignments.
• Coordinate volunteers and train volunteers as needed for events.
• Plan, supervise, and direct events for Cone Park, Expo Center, pools and other facilities.
• Manage daily operations and private rentals; ensure safety and guest satisfaction.
• Assist with social media management for the department.
• Support short-term and long-term planning for programming and facilities.
