Job summary

City of Fort Wayne Recreation Department is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to assist with planning and leading community programs and events. Responsibilities include implementing services, coordinating events, and ensuring quality experiences for park users.

You will support budgeting, program promotion, and rental supervision while maintaining safety standards and professional conduct with staff and the public.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus two years of advanced education in recreation or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in supervision and recreational settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Recreation Supervisor or Manager in delivering programs and activities.
• Lead recreational programs, festivals, and events for the community.
• Plan, implement and evaluate programs with budgets and equipment.
• Maintain attendance records and collect program fees.
• Provide excellent customer service and enforce park rules.
• Assist with marketing, promotions, and rental supervision.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, facilities, and park appearance.
• Follow safety protocols and city policies.
