Job summary

City of West Des Moines is seeking a Recreation Coordinator to plan, develop, implement and evaluate camps, clinics, leagues and recreation programs for all ages. Under the RecPlex General Manager, you will recruit and supervise seasonal staff, coordinate instructors and community partners, monitor budgets and registrations, and respond to participants and families.

You must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation or related field with at least six months of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Education, Physical Education, Sports Management, or related area plus a minimum of six (6) months of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, implements and evaluates a variety of camps, clinics, leagues and recreation programs for participants of all ages.
• Recruits, trains and supervises seasonal and intermittent program staff; coordinates instructors, contractors and community partners; monitors program budgets, supplies and registration trends; and serves as a primary point of contact for participants and families.
