Job summary

The City of Richmond Police Department seeks a Lead Analyst to join the Capital City Intelligence Center (CCIC). This role serves as the primary contact for daily CCIC operations and supervises staff who monitor camera systems, respond to live events, and relay information to officers by radio.

The Lead Analyst provides oversight, ensures documentation standards, coordinates staffing, and serves as a subject-matter expert for Capital City Intelligence Analysts.

Qualifications

• Two years of progressively responsible work experience in law enforcement or public safety organization
• Experience working in a real-time crime center, intelligence center, 911/dispatch center, or similar operation
• Experience monitoring live video surveillance systems and identifying criminal or suspicious activity
• Prior supervisory or lead experience, including training, scheduling, or evaluating staff
• Experience supporting major events, special operations, or critical incident response
• Equivalent combination of training and experience as approved by the department

Responsibilities

• Oversee CCIC operations and supervise analysts.
• Coordinate analytical work for active and recent incidents, events, and operations.
• Conduct advanced research using video systems, open-source media, and public safety databases.
• Prioritize tasks based on incident scope and demand.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and workflow direction to CCIC staff.
• Ensure documentation standards and operational continuity across shifts.
• Staff CCIC operational hours and post overtime opportunities.
• Train staff on systems and methodologies.
• Liaise with internal divisions and external agencies during incidents.
