Job summary

Metra seeks a Crime Surveillance Specialist to monitor video feeds, analyze incidents, and coordinate with police agencies in real-time. You will manage evidence, generate alerts, and support investigations with meticulous documentation.

Requires LEADS and MAC/COPS familiarity, strong communication, and the ability to work under stress. On-call, travel within the region, and 24/7 readiness are expected.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent with related field or 2 years in law enforcement or public safety.
• Two years of public safety, multimedia communications, or related experience.
• LEEP and FBI/JTTF memberships with certifications within 90 days.
• Background check including fingerprints and credit check.
• Good knowledge of public safety principles and LEADS policies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor MAC video system and COPS console for real-time incidents.
• Analyze reports, issue actionable alerts to law enforcement agencies.
• Retrieve and organize video evidence for investigations.
• Maintain detailed activity logs and CHF records.
• Testify in court regarding crimes witnessed on video equipment.
