Job summary

The City of Richmond Police Department seeks a self-directed Crime Analyst to compile, analyze, and disseminate data on crime trends. You will work with GIS, Power BI, and SQL to support investigators and command staff.

Strong office skills and the ability to handle sensitive information are essential. Ideal candidates hold a related degree and have at least two years of experience; familiarity with ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise and i2 Notebook is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in forensic science, criminal justice, police science, or a related field.
  • Two years of related experience in crime analysis or law enforcement environment.
  • Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis using research methods to track crime incidents.
  • Compile statistical reports and forecast trends for the community.
  • Interpret regulations and assist investigators with data from databases and tools.
