SEK-CAP, Inc. seeks an Assistant Teacher to collaborate with classroom and center staff to deliver quality, developmentally appropriate services for children and families.

The role supports growth, learning, and positive interactions and steps in as Lead Teacher when needed, ensuring compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and state childcare guidelines. The position requires participation in program implementation, classroom oversight, family engagement, data management, and safety

Qualifications

• Preschool CDA credential or higher with plan to obtain CDA within one year.
• 3-5 years of experience working with young children in a classroom setting preferred.
• Be eligible to obtain KDHE program approval.
• Obtain and uphold current First Aid and CPR certification.
• Submit to and pass standard criminal history check.
• Possess current, valid driver’s license and meet agency insurance underwriting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Promote daily operations that support quality services for children and families and a thriving staff environment.
• Ensure adherence to Head Start Performance Standards and licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with staff to model developmentally appropriate practices for 3-5 year olds.
• Engage families through two educational home visits and two conferences annually.
• Maintain data in agency-approved systems and complete required documentation.
• Attend mandatory trainings and participate in professional development.
