Job summary

SEK-CAP, Inc. seeks a full-time Center Director to lead day-to-day operations and staff in delivering Head Start services to children and families in Kansas. The role emphasizes a nurturing learning environment aligned with performance standards and licensing.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience with young children, relevant degrees/certifications, and strong supervisory skills to guide staff and volunteers. Travel within the agency area is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood or related field with 15 hours in Early Childhood; CDA for Infant/Toddler as required.
• 3–5 years of experience working with young children in a classroom setting.
• Must obtain CDA within 6 months; maintain current First Aid and CPR.
• Submit to standard criminal history check and have a valid driver’s license.
• Physical exam and TB test required prior to employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise center staff and volunteers to deliver quality Head Start services.
• Develop developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans using observations.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, KDHE licensing, and CACFP guidelines.
• Conduct home visits and parent-teacher conferences; support family engagement.
• Recruit, train and schedule parent and community volunteers; document hours.
