Job summary

The Assistant Teacher at SEK-CAP collaborates with staff to provide high-quality early childhood services aligned with Head Start standards. The role includes supporting classroom operations, promoting language development, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment for 3-5 year olds.

When needed, the Assistant Teacher steps in as Lead Teacher, supports family engagement, and adheres to all licensing and program guidelines.

Qualifications

• Preschool CDA credential or equivalent is required or in progress with completion within one year of hire.
• 3-5 years of experience with young children in a classroom setting preferred.
• Eligible to obtain KDHE program approval and maintain licensure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver developmentally appropriate instruction per Head Start standards.
• Supervise children and maintain safe, clean classroom and facilities.
• Lead classroom activities when needed and support families through engagement.
• Complete data entry and maintain program documentation.
