Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Principal Consultant – RALS Informatics for its CMI ARDx Cardiometabolic and Informatics division. This field-based role requires 25% travel within the United States and focuses on guiding solution design, implementation, optimization, and adoption for laboratory informatics initiatives.

You will influence product strategy, resolve complex challenges, and drive outcomes across enterprise IT and laboratory environments, mentoring teams and representing Abbott externally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 12+ years in engineering, informatics, or healthcare tech.
• Experience leading complex software implementations.
• Knowledge of informatics workflows and regulated environments.
• Experience advising cross-functional teams on risk and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary technical and functional authority for the RALS platform.
• Partner with Product, Professional Services, Customer Success, Sales, Engineering and Compliance teams.
• Lead design, planning, upgrades, and adoption for complex environments.
• Act as escalation point for technical and compliance challenges.
• Guide optimization of laboratory workflows and data integrity.
• Facilitate workshops, architecture sessions, and executive engagements.
• Establish standards, guidelines, and support models for scalable success.
• Assess industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Evaluate third-party integrations for reliability and value.
• Lead training programs and knowledge-sharing across teams.
• Mentor consultants and customer-facing staff.
• Represent Abbott as a trusted informatics expert.
