Job summary

CN is seeking a Supervisor, Mechanical (Car) to lead the day-to-day railcar inspection and repair operations at main terminals, coordinating union and non-union staff on a 24/7 schedule, with a focus on safety and reliability.

The role requires 4+ years supervisory rail experience; Bachelor's or tech diploma is valued. Competitive salary range with bonuses, ESIP, pension, and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Electrical and mechanical experience required.
• Minimum 4 years supervisory experience of both union and non-union employees.
• Minimum 3 years in railroad mechanical shopcraft or a comparable position.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related asset.

Responsibilities

• Coach and train Mechanical staff on safe and productive procedures.
• Ensure railcar inspection and repair meet safety and performance targets.
• Coordinate with safety and compliance to follow AAR and related rules.
• Lead day-to-day operations of a 24/7 shop to maintain railcar and locomotive readiness.
