Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Construction Manager for a major Rail Transit project in Los Angeles. The role involves on-site management of construction contracts, coordinating with design-build teams, utilities, and third parties to ensure timely delivery and compliance with contract requirements.

Ideal candidates will have extensive experience in heavy civil construction, utility relocation, and LA-area coordination, with a background in transit projects exceeding $300 million.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management is required.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer is desirable.
• Approximately ten years of CM experience on heavy civil projects of similar size and complexity, or fifteen years in lieu of a degree.
• Approximately five years of CM/RE experience on major contracts of similar size and complexity.
• Experience in relocation of all utility types and LA coordination.
• Cal/OSHA 30 training prior to start.
• Valid California Class C driver's license.
• On-site project office in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain contractor deficiency lists, action lists, and non-conformance logs; enforce corrective actions.
• Coordinate with design-build contractor and third parties on all design and construction activities.
• Lead weekly progress meetings and publish minutes.
• Monitor progress against the Project Master Schedule and mitigate delays.
• Maintain accurate construction and contingency forecasts with backup.
• Provide monthly field progress reports to Project Management.
• Review submittals for compliance and coordinate with engineering consultant.
