Job summary

GE Vernova seeks a Senior Radiological Engineer to lead shielding and reactivity control analyses for nuclear power applications. You will perform advanced shielding design, criticality assessments, and reactivity control studies, while mentoring junior engineers and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities include presenting technical data to clients, driving process improvements, and collaborating across project teams to meet cost and schedule targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or closely related science required.
• 8+ years’ experience in coupled neutron/gamma shielding design for nuclear power plants.
• 8+ years’ experience with MCNP for shielding analysis including variance reduction techniques.
• 8+ years’ experience in nuclear radiological analysis, radiation shielding, or nuclear safety analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform shielding design/analysis, fluence analysis, criticality assessments, and control rod blade design.
• Communicate with project managers, technical personnel, and customers on engineering issues.
• Maintain quality and safety while meeting schedule and cost objectives.
• Document and present technical data to internal and external customers.
• Contribute to team process improvements to speed up work.
• Ensure work complies with NRC, CNSC, or other regulatory rules and QA standards.
• Mentor and guide early career engineers in shielding design/analysis.
