Job summary

UT-Battelle's Oak Ridge National Laboratory seeks a Senior Radiochemical Processing Technician to support radioisotope production operations in HFIR and related facilities. You will process isotopes in hot cell and glovebox environments, assist scientists, and ensure safety, environmental, health, and quality compliance.

Collaborate with engineers and technicians to establish solutions for complex problems and help stand up new production capabilities for medical and industrial radioisotopes,

Qualifications

• AS degree in physical or engineering sciences plus 7 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability with safe handling of highly radioactive samples.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with peers and staff.
• Self-motivated, team player, and committed to safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Process isotopes via documented procedures in hot cell and glovebox facilities.
• Assist technical staff and other technicians with operations in chemical and radiochemical laboratories.
• Engage with scientists, engineers, and technicians to solve complex problems.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, health, and quality program requirements.
• Coordinate radioactive and hazardous waste characterization.
• Maintain logbooks and batch record documentation.
• Promote ORNL values and foster a respectful workplace.
