Job summary

EnergySolutions is seeking a capable materials handler in Oak Ridge to load, sort, and process radioactive and non-radioactive materials following strict procedures. The role involves operating forklifts and other equipment, maintaining meticulous shipment records, and ensuring safety rules are followed with appropriate PPE.

You will review documentation, assist in special waste operations, and participate in routine inspections while adhering to health physics regulations and DoT requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must pass pre-employment HazWoper physical.
  • Forklift and crane operating certifications required.
  • DOE Rad Worker II and respirator qualifications preferred.
  • 4+ years of related experience not required but preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Loads and packs materials into containers for transportation.
  • Operates forklift and other heavy equipment.
  • Reviews documentation of radioactive materials for accuracy.
  • Maintains logs, manifests, records and barcode tracking.
  • Performs waste processing steps such as sorting, shredding, repackaging.
  • Ensures compliance with safety rules and PPE protocols.
  • Conducts routine facility inspections and prepares shipment data.
