Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer for the Radar Performance and Analysis team in Woburn, MA. The role focuses on evaluating radar data, end-to-end performance assessments, and managing system requirements for the AN/TPY-2 missile defense radar program.

Onsite work with DoD clearance supported, and emphasis on MATLAB/Python automation. You will develop data-processing workflows, report KPIs/TPMs, and present findings to leadership and military stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in test methodology, data analysis, scripting, and/or software development.
• Experience with Matlab, Python, C/C++, Unix and/or Linux.

Responsibilities

• Parse, process, and analyze raw sensor data, tracks, and detections to evaluate algorithm performance, target discrimination, and tracking accuracy.
• Conduct scenario-based analysis to identify and resolve technical observations.
• Perform system performance assessments and validation testing to ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
• Lead system-level requirements analysis, decomposition, and traceability, managing the full verification and validation (V&V) lifecycle.
• Establish, monitor, and report on KPMs and TPMs, proactively identifying performance trends, variances, and system risks.
• Develop and maintain robust MATLAB and Python scripts to automate large-scale data ingestion, statistical modeling, and performance report generation.
