Job summary

Qualifications

  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, Perl, C/C++, Unix or Linux.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • DoD Secret security clearance required.
  • PhD or Master’s in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Business, or related field preferred.

Job description

Position

Systems Engineer II – Radar Performance and Analysis (AN/TPY‑2 missile defense radar program) – Woburn, MA – Onsite. Security Clearance required: Secret (DoD).

Responsibilities
  • Parse, process, and analyze raw sensor data, tracks, and detections to evaluate algorithm performance, target discrimination, and tracking accuracy.
  • Conduct scenario‑based analysis to identify and resolve technical observations.
  • Perform system performance assessments and validation testing to ensure compliance with requirements and specifications.
  • Lead system‑level requirements analysis, decomposition, and traceability, managing the full verification and validation (V&V) lifecycle.
  • Establish, monitor, and report on Key Performance Metrics (KPMs) and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs), proactively identifying performance trends, variances, and system risks.
  • Develop and maintain robust MATLAB and Python scripts to automate large‑scale data ingestion, statistical modeling, and performance report generation.
  • Translate complex data findings into clear technical presentations, dashboards, and documentation for program leadership and military stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Must Have:
    • Degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in test methodology, data analysis, scripting, and/or software development.
    • Experience with MATLAB, Python, Perl, C/C++, Unix, and/or Linux.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Existing DoD Security Clearance (Secret).
    • PhD or Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Business, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Preferred:
    • Proven experience in radar systems engineering, signal processing analysis, or performance assessment within a defense framework.
    • Advanced proficiency in MATLAB (toolboxes) and Python for automated scripting, data visualization, and mathematical modeling.
    • Familiarity with systems engineering tools (e.g., IBM DOORS) for managing requirements tracking and verification matrices.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving complex anomalies in large‑scale tactical data feeds.
    • Experience in creating test plans, test scripts, mission planning activities, and working with the AN/TPY‑2 System or missile defense programs.
    • Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of and ability to work within Agile Scrum practices.
