Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is seeking a Lead Shift Maintenance Mechanic to support operations at the Millville Quarry in Millville, WV. You will install and assemble new machines, maintain a preventive maintenance schedule, and test machinery to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires leadership of a maintenance team during shift operations, troubleshooting heavy quarry equipment, and enforcing OSHA safety standards to minimize downtime and injuries.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in heavy equipment maintenance, preferably in quarry settings.
• Experience leading a mechanics team and ensuring safety.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic failures and fix them quickly.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and best practices.
• Experience implementing preventive maintenance programs.
• Strong communication skills for coordinating tasks and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of maintenance mechanics during shift operations.
• Perform troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on quarry equipment including crushers, conveyors, and heavy machinery.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in all maintenance activities.
• Oversee and execute preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime and extend machinery life.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Collaborate with quarry management to prioritize repair schedules and minimize production disruptions.
• Train, mentor, and develop junior maintenance personnel to enhance team skills.
• Monitor and manage the inventory of spare parts and tools to ensure availability.
• Respond to urgent equipment breakdowns and coordinate emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify issues before they cause problems.
• Promote a culture of safety and adherence to health, safety and environmental policies.
