Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Quantity Surveyor for a premier residential development portfolio in Gauteng, including Tembisa. You will lead cost control, BoQ preparation, and procurement decisions to ensure profitability.

You will negotiate with contractors, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to define project scope and ensure financial objectives are met. A SACQSP-advantage is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in Quantity Surveying, with at least 3 years in lead/senior role.
• Proven experience in residential construction projects.
• Expert knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, tender, and deliver bills of quantities (BoQ).
• Manage and control project budgets from inception to completion.
• Undertake cost analysis and provide reports on costs.
• Advise on procurement strategy and contract administration.
• Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
• Seek and manage cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
• Negotiate and agree on costs and contracts with vendors/contractors.
• Manage client relationships concerning project costs and variations.
• Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to define scope and objectives.
