Job summary

United Future is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for first shift at a beverage manufacturing facility in the Silver Spring area. You will lead QA personnel on the production floor and in the laboratory to ensure products meet quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

You will coach staff, review results, support audits, and partner with plant departments to drive process improvements and maintain consistent quality. Strong lab and manufacturing knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable education in biology, chemistry, food science, health sciences, or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food industry practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of sanitation, beverage processes, and microbiological or aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with liquid chromatography (HPLC) and gas chromatography (GC).
• Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication, organization, and team development skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk the manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Availability to work first shift with flexibility for additional coverage when needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel, organize daily activities, and communicate expectations for quality, safety, and performance.
• Develop team members through training, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Partner with Production and other departments to resolve quality concerns and support food safety practices.
• Oversee assigned quality management programs, including documentation, training, and internal audits.
• Maintain compliance with product specifications, regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and certification standards.
• Review laboratory data for accuracy, investigate exceptions, and identify trends requiring corrective action.
• Recommend process improvements based on testing results and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with regulatory, certification, customer, and internal audits.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen quality and customer satisfaction.
