Job summary

Confidential Beverage Manufacturer in the Silver Spring area is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for first shift to lead QA personnel on the production floor and in the laboratory. You will ensure products meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements while coaching staff and guiding continuous improvement.

The role requires 1–3 years in manufacturing, knowledge of beverage processes, lab testing, and experience with HPLC/GC; strong analytical and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or similar technical education in a science field.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Manufacturing experience in the food industry.
• Familiar with lab equipment and testing in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of sanitation, beverage processes, and microbiology/aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with LC (HPLC) and GC.
• Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication, organization, and team development.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, lift up to 25 pounds.
• Availability to work first shift with flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel, organize daily activities, and communicate expectations for quality, safety, and performance.
• Develop team members through training, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Partner with Production and other departments to resolve quality concerns and support food safety practices.
• Oversee assigned quality management programs, including documentation, training, and internal audits.
• Maintain compliance with product specifications, regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and certification standards.
• Review laboratory data for accuracy, investigate exceptions, and identify trends requiring corrective action.
• Recommend process improvements based on testing results and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with regulatory, certification, customer, and internal audits.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen quality and customer satisfaction.
