Job summary

The Recruiting Hive is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for a confidential beverage manufacturer in the Silver Spring area. The role leads QA personnel on the lab and production floor, ensuring products meet quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements.

You will coach the team, review laboratory results, support audits, and partner with plant departments to improve processes and maintain consistent product quality. First shift with potential overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable college/technical education in biology, chemistry, food science or related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience in QA/manufacturing.
• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food/beverage industry practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of sanitation, beverage processes, and microbiological/aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with HPLC and GC.
• Strong analytical, math and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication, organization and team development skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• Availability to work first shift with flexibility for additional coverage as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel, organize activities, and set expectations for quality, safety and performance.
• Develop team members through training, coaching and feedback.
• Partner with Production and other departments to resolve quality concerns and support food safety.
• Oversee QA programs, including documentation, training and internal audits.
• Maintain compliance with product specs, regulatory requirements and customer expectations.
• Review lab data for accuracy, investigate exceptions and identify trends for corrective action.
• Recommend process improvements based on testing results and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with audits from regulators, customers and internal teams.
• Drive continuous improvement to strengthen quality and customer satisfaction.
