Job summary

ASHFORD CONNEX, LLC in the Silver Spring area is seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor for the 1st shift at a confidential beverage manufacturer. You will lead QA on the production floor and in the laboratory to ensure products meet quality, food safety, and regulatory standards.

You will coach staff, review lab data, support audits, and partner with plant departments to drive process improvements and maintain consistent product quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or comparable education in biology, chemistry, food science, health sciences, or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant work experience in QA/manufacturing.
• Manufacturing experience and knowledge of food industry practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of sanitation, beverage processes, and microbiological or aseptic techniques.
• Familiarity with HPLC and GC methods.
• Strong analytical, math, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication, organization, and team development skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead QA personnel and organize daily activities with clear quality, safety, and performance expectations.
• Develop team members through training, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Partner with Production and other departments to resolve quality concerns and support food safety practices.
• Oversee QA programs, documentation, training, and internal audits.
• Maintain compliance with product specifications, regulatory requirements, customer expectations, and certification standards.
• Review laboratory data for accuracy, investigate exceptions, and identify trends requiring corrective action.
• Recommend process improvements based on testing results and quality performance.
• Prepare for and assist with regulatory, certification, customer, and internal audits.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts that strengthen quality and customer satisfaction.
