Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI) operates six Midwest-based plants producing cheese and powdered dairy products. The role leads a department, directing staffing, training and performance, while ensuring food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

You will mentor staff, manage audits, and drive continuous improvement in HACCP, SQF and FSMA programs. AMPI offers competitive pay, PTO, 401k and comprehensive benefits.

Formación

• Bachelors’ degree in dairy science, food science, or a biological science or other equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of HACCP, FSMA and GMP’s as they relate to food safety programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively throughout organization, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
• Current regulatory certification for anti-biotic testing or willingness to receive within one year.
• Food manufacturing experience preferred.
• Prior experience in the dairy or cheese industry is preferred.
• Prior experience in manufacturing is a plus.
• Knowledge of FSMA, HACCP, GMP's, PCQI, OSHA and loss control programs is highly desirable.
• HACCP, PCQI and SQF trained a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Report safety, food safety and quality issues to leadership.
• Manage the department with staffing, hiring, training, evaluating, disciplining and scheduling.
• Mentor staff to build skills for required duties and results.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, audits and internal quality programs.
• Maintain Food Safety/HACCP plans and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage costs to budget, including overtime and materials.
• Facilitate change for lab function efficiency and food safety improvements.
• Maintain pre-requisite programs and ensure documentation is current.
• Oversee audits by onsite customers, regulators, and third parties and follow up on corrective actions.
