Job summary

Emerson is seeking a Lead Proposal Engineer based in Cranberry Township, PA to drive Ovation-based proposals for New Generation Power Projects, collaborating with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering.

You will prepare DCS proposals, mentor junior engineers, review customer specs, define strategies, and ensure cost-effective, compliant solutions while engaging directly with customers. Travel up to 5% and US work authorization required.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with controls and automation (DCS/PLC/SCADA) systems.
• Ability to travel up to 5%.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; sponsorship will not be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepare DCS proposals for new generation power projects in response to customer requests.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to developing proposal engineers.
• Perform review of customer specifications and conform compliance.
• Define proposal strategies that align with customer specifications, based on organizational goals, market insight, and expert process and product knowledge.
• Collaborate across teams to validate technical feasibility, engineering requirements, and cost‑effective solutions.
• Engage directly with customers to communicate Emerson’s capabilities and understand application needs.
• Develop optimal project cost structures that mitigate technical risk and strengthen competitive positioning.
• Support presentations, interviews, and negotiations utilizing a thorough understanding of customer applications and Emerson capabilities and products.
• Partner effectively with sales, engineering, project teams, and global offices as needed to deliver cohesive proposal packages.
