Job summary

Stadler US seeks a Lead Project Mechanical Engineer to drive mechanical design on international projects for modular train families. You will own mechanical topics on the project team and ensure customer specs are met while aligning with national standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical or electrical) or equivalent training.
  • 3–5 years of experience in rail vehicle, defense, aerospace or related field.
  • Experience in international projects and environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with a sense of responsibility and assertiveness.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and structured, goal‑oriented approach.
  • Fluent in English; German is a bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Handle mechanical design on international projects of modular vehicle families.
  • Translate customer specifications into compliant designs with national standards.
  • Own all mechanical topics on the Project Team.
  • Develop concepts, technical specs, production docs, test plans and type tests.
  • Plan and manage internal engineering activities including interfaces and approvals.
  • Create engineering documents and communicate solutions to Production, Procurement, Engineering and Quality.
  • Implement engineering changes using the established change process.
