Lead Project Manager, Renewables (Independent Engineer) - REMOTE

Location: USA only - Remote or Hybrid

Our work focuses on enabling development and investment in energy infrastructure. As a Lead Project Manager within project teams, you will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, engage with clients, and expand our independent engineering and owner’s advisory practice areas. Join a motivated team of industry experts delivering high-value technical diligence and solutions for challenges encountered by our clients. You will work across energy technologies and engage with clients and stakeholders on industry opportunities.

Technical Advisory offers comprehensive energy industry advisory services supporting strategic investments, portfolio management, operational planning, market developments, policy analysis, regulatory support, and customer engagement. We collaborate across divisions such as Power and Gas Market, Environment and Planning, and Transportation and Sustainability. As a Lead Project Manager, you will leverage your experience from power markets and consulting, with a proven track record of technical consulting or utility industry results. Engagement with client decision-makers at senior levels is essential. This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports.

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct technical due diligence, support construction monitoring, and project completion monitoring on energy and infrastructure assets.
2. Manage project and client relationships.
3. Provide technical input and direction to multi-disciplinary teams.
4. Work collaboratively within a team of varied technical expertise.
5. Complete project work and deliverables within scope, time, and budget.
6. Ensure client satisfaction and foster long-term relationships.
7. Support business development, including identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
8. Develop client proposals for new projects.
9. Stay informed on market activities and industry trends.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 8+ years of relevant energy industry or consulting experience.
• 8+ years of site-based engineering or managerial experience on utility-scale or commercial projects (solar, energy storage/BESS, biofuels, renewable tech).
• Experience as a senior project manager, managing projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for onsite visits.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• 10-15+ years of relevant experience.
• Deep understanding of commercial contracts for project development (interconnection, off-take, equipment, construction, O&M).
• Ability to work flexibly within a team or independently.
